Tuesday, June 20, 2012 you arrived first thing in the morning to work on the issue, which we greatly appreciate. However it has been thirteen days now since the septic tank was dug up and we have been told “another day or two” more than once, the last time nearly a week ago. We have four young children, ages 18 months to 8 years, and my wife is pregnant with our fifth. We really need to get the septic tank pumped out and the hole filled back up. The standing water and sewage is a health hazard, not just because of disease but because it has become a breeding ground for mosquitoes and the open pit is dangerous to children, both ours and their playmates. I am sure this is on schedule to be resolved shortly, but to protect protect my family I am withholding July’s rent until such time as the septic tank has been pumped and the open pit filled. Also we are still waiting to receive our final copy of the lease. And our oven’s thermostat does not work so while the oven comes on it does not shut off when it reaches the proper temperature. This makes cooking with it all but impossible. I apologize if this seems overly formal; I was casual with our landlords in Oregon and we were badly taken advantage of as a result. No offense is intended. Sincerely yours, Fuzz Leonard
