RE: Fireplace Footing at Pool for the
Shuford Residence

Dear Hunt:
At your request, we visited the above referenced residence and reviewed the photographs taken
by the contractor in order to provide an opinion concerning the footing for the newly constructed
fireplace at the pool for your residence.
The footing is approximately T -0" wide x 9' -0" long in the center portion and 6' -0" wide x T -0"
long on each side at the wing walls. The footing is about 8" deep and reinforced with #4 bars
spaced at 12" on center each way for the entire footing. The footing is also poured on a washed
stone base.
Based on our analysis, the construction of the footing appears to be in accordance with standard
residential construction principles and methods and in our opinion is acceptable.
