Catawba County Code Compliance Technicians, after a visual inspection was made of property owned by you, have found
the following violation(s):
Section 44 - Other - UDO Violation
Directions - Springs Rd, right on Houston Mill Rd, property on left.
Located on your property at the above address is a zoning violation.
Junkyards are permissible on General Industrial (GI) properties. The property in question is zoned Highway Commercial
(HC).
According to the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Junkyard/salvage yard is defined as: - Land used for the storage,
keeping, handling, or display of junk or on which 6 or more unlicensed, used motor vehicles which cannot be operated under
their own power are kept or stored for a period of 15 days or more.
Based on complaints and information available to staff, the existing use appears to meet this definition creating a violation of
