Dear Lanny:
At your request, we have analyzed the existing roof framing for the addition of one new roof top
unit weighing about 1,435 pounds. The unit is located toward the end of steel bar joists on a steel
beam girder and near a column. The unit is approximately 4' -10" x 8' -2" and spans across two
24" deep steel bar joists spaced 5'-0" on center and spanning about 39' -0 ".
According to our analysis the existing roof framing will support the weight of this unit.
