Dear Mr. Rogers:
This letter is meant to serve as response to item 7 in the code review comments dated 10/26/10. The new
facility in question (Trinity Ridge) to be constructed at 2140 Medical Park Drive in Hickory shall meet

the three exceptions as listed in Article 517.40 of the NEC.
To satisfy exception "a" of this section, this facility has a policy that prevents any patient and/or resident
from receiving any electrical life- support for any reason. If life- support for a resident becomes
the resident shall be transferred to a facility that is equipped to provide such a level of care. necessary,
This facility complies with exception "b" as this facility does not have any means and/or requirements for r
any surgical treatment requiring general anesthesia. If a surgical procedure for a resident becomes k
necessary, the resident shall be transferred to a facility that is equipped to perform such a service.
Lastly, exception "c" will be satisfied with the installation of an emergency back -up power generator
(containing a minimum of 72 hours worth of fuel) to provide the required 90- minute backup power
supply for all emergency lighting and Systems noted in `his exception.
