Dear George:
At your request, we have visited the above referenced building and reviewed the new mechanical
drawing, Sheet M -1, to determine if the existing roof structure is adequate to support (3) new roof
top units shown on the new meabmical drawings. The proposed units appear to be about 4' x 6'
and weigh about 800 pounds
The existing steel roof joists ark 22" deep, spaced at about 4' -8" on center and spanning about
40'-0". The joists support a meW roof decking.
According to our analysis, the . bar joists will support the weight of these units at the
locations shown on drawing M - We recommend that the weight of each unit be spread out over
a minimum of two joists.
