BUILDING REVIEW
(1). A written response to the comments in the order they appear in this correspondence as
well as appropriate clouded revisions to the plans shall be provided.
Reply: See below
(2). Sheet A2.01: Dimension stall to verify compliance with handicap accessibility
requirements
Reply: See added dimensions on sheet A2.01
(3). Sheet A2.01: Verify that the wheelchair accessible stall door is self - closing per ICC/ ANSI
A117.1 -2003 604.8.3
Reply: See added notes on sheet A2.01
(4). Sheet M1: Verify if RTU 1, 2, 3, 6 and 8 are existing or new.
Reply: RTU units are existing. They were permitted under a previous permit. See
attached letter from Mechanical engineer
(5). Sheet M1: The thermal zone for Catawba County is incorrect. Revise
Reply: Drawing has been revised. Thermal Zone corrected from 8 to 4
(6). Sheet M1: Verify if RTU 1 thru 9 are new or replacing existing units. If new, provide letter
from structural engineer verifying that roof will support units and no additional support is
needed for the roff at the units.
Reply: RTU units are existing. They were permitted under a previous permit. See
attached letter from Mechanical engineer
(7). Provide the latest revision of the electrical drawings. Per telephone conversation with the
electrical design professional the copy submitted for review has been revised.
Reply: See attached current drawings E1, E2 and E3, updated to include Fire
Review comments as well.
CATAWBA COUNTY FIRE APPROVAL
(1) thru (6). These are general statements from the reviewer and do not require a response.
General contractor will confirm these in the field.
(7). Emergency Lighting shall be provided in each restroom
Reply: See sheets E2 and E3 for revisions to plans showing emergency lighting in
each restroom
(8). Fire alarm notification devices shall be provided and installed in each restroom. Alarm
Plans /permitting required prior to installation of any component of the system.
Reply: Plans will be submitted and approved prior to installation

(9). Plans indicate extension of the exiting sprinkler system into the new restrooms. Sprinkler

Comments #4 & #6 - All nine rooftop units RTU -1 thru RTU -9 on the Manufacturing Area and
RTU -10 on the office were permitted under a previous permit.
