Dear Mr. Herman:
I apologize for the confusion in the field regarding the mechanical system.
TKa has a record of transmitting revised drawings to Brandon Lewis on
September 30, 201 but it was only brought to my attention yesterday that
the set of drawings the field inspectors are using are the original permit set
dated October 23, 2009. Since the project is nearly complete, I will
summarize the changes to the drawings that were delivered to your office
yesterday afternoon. Please note that although there were a lot of sheets
delivered yesterday, most of these revised sheets are related to the
change from a geothermal system to a more conventional mechanical
system. The only Other changes involve eliminating Vestibule 209, and the
elimination of the finished electrical and mechanical fixtures at the Main
Level Tenant spaces. Here is a summary of the changes by sheet:
CS1: Cover sheet changed to reflect revised date(s) and addition of
CS2.2 — Chapter 34 Evaluation Spreadsheet.
CS2.11: Note added to refer to sheet CS2.2 for NCBC Chapter 34
Evaluation Spreadsheet for compliance alternative for the existing
building.
CS2.2: Sheet added to show how the existing structure complies with
NCBC Chapter 34. Note that this alternate means of compliance
was applied only because 1 building element was unable to
comply with the 2009 NCBC: Separation distance between exits
at the Main Level. See revised sheet CS4.
CS4: Main Level Life Safety Plan revised to show the distance between
exits is 50'-7" where 56'-7" would be required to comply with 2009
NCBC (1/3 the overall diagonal distance). For this reason, the
Chapter 34 Evaluation Spreadsheet (Sheet CS2.2) was used to
provide the required compliance alternative.

A1.2: Main Level Floor Plan was revised to indicate the mechanical well
for the revised mechanical system. Also, Vestibule 209 was
removed per the Owner's request. Once this Vestibule was
removed, the Chapter 34 Evaluation Spreadsheet (Sheet CS2.2)
was used to provide the required compliance alternative for
separation distance between exits. See sheet CS2.2.
A2.1: Lower Level and Main Level Partial Plans were added to show the
mechanical well for the revised mechanical system.
A8.1: Main Level Reflected Ceiling Plan was revised to show no light
fixtures at the future tenant upfit spaces. Note that the required
temporary lighting is shown on the electrical drawings.
P1.1A: Lower Level Plumbing Plan was revised to indicate plumbing
changes as it relates to the revised mechanical system.
M1.1A: Replace M1.1 with this revised sheet which shows the revised
mechanical system. Note that the ductwork at the Main Level
Future Tenant spaces will now be part of the future upfit.
M1.2: Upper Level Mechanical plan has been revised to reflect the
changes to the mechanical system.
M1.3: This sheet has been revised to show the equipment at the new
Mechanical well.
M2.1: Mechanical Piping Plans have been revised to reflect the changes
to the mechanical system.
M2.2: Mechanical Piping Plans have been revised to reflect the changes
to the mechanical system.
M3.1: Mechanical Notes have been revised to reflect the changes to the
mechanical system.
M3.2: Mechanical Schedules have been revised to reflect the changes to
the mechanical system.
M4.2: Mechanical Details have been revised to reflect the changes to the
