APPROVED WITH NOTES:
1. As submitted this modular building is spaced at a distance from the existing buildings that the Modular
Classroom would be considered a separate building and therefore with an occupancy less than 50 a fire alarm
system would not be required. A means to notify occupants in this modular classroom in the event of an
emergency or fire as required per Chapter 4, Emergency Planning & Preparedness of the 2006 North Carolina
Fire Code, would be required. A fire evacuation / fire safety plan is also required.
2. In Groups Educational occupancies, curtains, draperies, hangings & other decorative materials suspended
from walls or ceilings shall meet the flame propagation performance criteria of NFPA 701 in accordance with
Section 806.2 or be noncombustible.
3. Portable fire extinguishers shall be selected, installed and maintained in accordance with Section 906 of the
2006 North Carolina Fire Prevention Code and NFPA 10.
4. The building or structure shall not be occupied prior to the code official issuing a permit that indicates that
applicable provisions of the North Carolina Fire Prevention Code has been met.
