RE: Conover Public Works Department Renovations and Expansion
Plan Review #PLN2007 -00500
Dear Mr. Deitz:
DEC J 9 2007
BUILDING
This letter will certify that the new construction identified as "Fleet Maintenance Building" and shown
in the above referenced plans will be repositioned in order to alleviate requirements for either fire -
protection sprinkler system(s) or two-hour rated exterior facing wall(s).
The current plans show the separation between existing garage and proposed new construction to be
fourteen feet. The proposed "Fleet Maintenance Building" will be shifted directly south an additional
seven feet away from the existing garage, resulting in a distance of twenty-one feet between structures.
The two open canopies will similarly increase in length.
We have reviewed this change with Mr. Lance Hight, Director of Planning for the City of Conover.
Mr. Hight has assured us that the construction project with this intended change incorporated will
remain in compliance with all use and zoning ordinances and the permit.
Site Plan and other drawing revisions to reflect the above changes are under way. We anticipate
having the revised drawings ready for distribution to all parties on or before January 5, 2008.
We very much appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue in the best interest of the City of
Conover and Catawba County. Please don't hesitate to call if you have further concerns.
Respectfully,
W. K. Dickson & Company, Inc.
