The seal plate bolts which are countersunk are to be supplemented with
L- shaped brackets eight- inches (8 ") on the wall side and six- inches (6 ") on the seal plate
side at 90° angles to be structural steel one and one -half inch (1 -1/2 ") wide and 3/8" thick.
These are to be placed on identical intervals that are six -feet (6') as are the countersunk
seal plate bolts. However, they are to be located as so not to interfere with the current
plate bolt situation, they may have to be offset, etc.
The eight -inch (8 ") long arm is to extend down the interior block and the six-inch (6 ")
long arm is to be placed on top of the seal plate. The bolts themselves should be 3/8" in
diameter and 1 -1/4" to 2" in length.
Fit the bolt to the particular location, the shorter bolts being on top of the plate and the
longer into the block on side.
Appropriate bolts holes will have to be made to accommodate these bolts. Do this for the
entire unit at the location of the present countersunk bolts in the plates, plus or minus as
maybe required.
This will be a system to work with the countersunk bolts and increase the amount of
attachment of the structure to the foundation.
