Subject-, Exemption to Waterline Connection
Steven Rossner applied for a pemnit to construct a new single-family dwelling with the Catawba
County Building Services Department on 12/18/2001 The property is located at 5232
Canterbury Dr, Parcel Id: 373410469156, Clines, NC, 28613 and abuts a municipal water line on
Canterbury Drive, Chapter 42, Section 42-59, Procedures and standards, of the Catawba County
Code of Ordinances states that all new residential development will connect to water
infrastructure where available. Availability means the infrastructure is abutting the property
and/or right of way. A policy was initiated on November 20, 2001 stating that if the new single
family dwelling is located more than 250 feet from the waterline the dwelling is exempt from the
requirement to connect.
Permit BLD2003-02162 is for the new construction of a single-family dwelling and is located
400+ feet, as verified by Utilities and Engineering, from the waterline and is therefore exempt
from the requirement to connect.
Steven Rossner must apply for and obtain a new well installation permit as authorized by the
Catawba County Environmental Health Department. if for some reason you are unable to obtain
a well installation pennit you must connect to the waterline before a Certificate of occupancy
will be issued for the single-family dwelling.
This letter becomes a part of the official permit record for pennit number (enter permit number)
and applies only to this permit.
