Dear Ms. Sue,
This comes in response to the notification dated February 7, 2009 regarding the
ongoing construction at Abingdon Glen Village on 26"' Avenue NE in Hickory. My
understanding is that you have talked directly with Randy Harrell, the project manager
with Robbins Building Company and that he has since contacted you to notify you of
corrective measures that have been made. I met with Randy today and the following is
a listing of the correction made in response to the listed violations:
Silt Fence -- The sift fence located immediately in front of Building 17 was
damaged and_ineffective during the 2/6/09 visit. This silt fence has been repaired
and will be monitored so that repairs will be made in a timely fashion should it be
damaged again during construction.
Temporary Access to Back of Building 17 — Construction vehicles accessing the
back side of building 17 were tracking mud into the privately maintained roadway
in front of the building. This area has been regraded and covered with gravel
and straw to control the tracing of mud and runoff.
Staging Area — The future building site located across the privately maintained
roadway from building 17 serves as a staging area for the construction of this
building. A portion of this area has been graveled to control the tracking of mud
and runoff.
