HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegal NOTES from phone coversation with Ronald Sigmon.pdf 3/14/2011 (4:45 p.m.) Per my conversation with Kim Sue this afternoon, I advised her NOT to return a call to Ronald Sigmon, but instead, send me his number via email and I would call him tomorrow. 3/15/2011 Called Ronald Sigmon this morning; I gave him my name and position and told him I worked for the County Attorneys and was calling in response to his phone call(s) to Kim. Initially, he said “yeah, I called her a bunch of times but she won’t call me back”. I told him that she had been advised not to return his call due (in part) to the message he left her last week which was a little intimidating so any further communication would need to be through Legal and not through Code Compliance. His tone changed, and he admitted that he was “probably kinda hot” when he left the phone message for Kim and he was sorry. I explained to him that as Code Compliance Officer, Kim’s job was to investigate complaints pertaining to solid waste (trash), zoning violations and junked vehicles and that she was not “picking on him” but was only doing her job. I explained to him that, per Kim, he could continue to use the work truck (that is not tagged) to haul firewood on his property but the other truck that he is using for parts would either have to be removed from the property or enclosed in his garage. During our conversation, I also made reference to his comment about having more vehicles to work on, on his property. I told him that if he brought several more vehicles to his property, it would probably result in another visit by Kim and another complaint. He told me that he was not running a mechanic’s business but only worked on vehicles for friends and family. I suggested that he only have 1 vehicle on his property at a time that he is working on and that vehicle needed to be in the garage while he was working on it and hopefully that will prevent any further complaints.
