Inspection Report: During initial inspection, I spoke to complainant, who rents the
house. He showed me the basement area under the house. There was
several feet of sewage under the house. That afternoon the NOV
was mailed to the owners, giving them 1 week to fix the problem and
eliminate the sewage under the house.
On Friday, 3/11/11, I made a site visit. Nothing has been done to
eliminate the sewage, it is still present under the house. The 1 week
time -frame we gave the owner has expired. Will refer to legal.
Supervisor Assessment: The required work has not been completed to date to correct
problem. I have spoken with property owners and contractors who
have indicated the work should be completed tomorrow, but
questions remain if this will be done. Due to serious nature of
problem and public health issues involved, I am requesting legal
action to go forward at this time.
