RE: Segmental Retaining Wall

Dear Mr. Beaver:

Per your request I have analyzed the subject segmental retaining wall. The wall is
approximately 5' -0" in height at its maximum with a level backfill, and will be
constructed with HIGHLAND STONE segmental - locking units at a 10.6 setback. The
wall shall be backfilled with compacted porous gravel and reinforced with 5' -0" lengths
of geogrid located vertically at approximately 1/3- points of the wall height (elevations 2'-
0" and 4' -0" below upper grade elevation). The gravity of the compacted backfill along
the length of the 5' -0" geogrid is utilized to resist the active soil pressure of the retained
backfill.
The wall as described is adequate to resist the anticipated soil pressures.
