Thank you for your review and your staffs' review of this project on November 18, 2010. Enclosed with this response letter are 7 sets of the revised drawings, 7 copies of the addendums
and a copy of the response letter to William Moeller at the NC Department of Insurance. This project was successfully bid on the 23rd of this month and contract may be awarded at the
next school board meeting on December In response to the comments I have the following: Building Review 1) The current Catawba County Special Inspection Forms, partially filled in are
attached to this response letter. The NCBC Edition is listed as 2009. Architect and Engineers of record have been indicated with the license numbers. The Earth retention box has been
checked. Once the Contract has been awarded on Dec. 6th, the form will be completed and sent to you. 2) The percentage of increase for open area has been corrected on sheet BC1.0, see
attached. 3) The assumed property line on sheet BC1.1 at the existing physical education classroom has been revised to be more than 10'-0" away fro the existing door. The existing wall
of CMU and brick masonry has an equivalent rating greater than 1 hour. 4) UL numbers have been added to Wall Legend notes on sheet BC1.1, see attached revised sheet BC1.1. 5) The ASTM
number of F-1488 has been added to the new sewer pipe under corridor 127, see attached revised sheet C3.1. 6) Rated walls have been shown on the revised sheet A1.0, see attached. 7)
Slope of ramp has been shown on the floor plan sheet Al.l, see attached. 8) See attached response from Mike Ward P.E.

in the existing toilet rooms or kitchen. In response to the comments from the Catawba County Fire Approval I have the following: 1) Appendix B has been revised to indicate "No Sprinklers"
2) Adequacy of all emergency and exit lighting to be evaluated in the field. 3) Fire extinguishers will be added to the mechanical rooms by the owner and will be surface mounted. 4)
Fire hydrants were relocated by addendum #1 item no.l (drawings) and on attached addendum sheet Cl. Also see revised sheet C3.1. 5) Entrance road has been widened to 26' by addendum
# 1 item no. 2 (drawings) and on attached addendum sheets C2. Also see revised sheet C3.1. 6) A KNOX Key Box is shown on the revised sheet C3.1. 7) The existing KNOX Box will be relocated
to the new entrance by owner. 8) The new building is separated into two areas by a 2 hour wall. See revise appendix B that has the corrected areas of increase for open area. Also see
sheet BC1.1 that corrects the assumed property line between the buildings. 9) Fire lane signs have been added, see attached sheet C3.1 and sheet C7.2. 10) Premises identification signs
are shown on sheet C3.1. 11) A set of fire alarm shop drawings will be submitted to the permitting center when they become available. Landscaping: Two islands have been added, see sheet
C3.1. Traffic/Transportation: The Board of Education is working with the NCDOT for the driveway permits. Negotiations are underway with the adjoining property owners for rights of way.

adjusted to comply with the overcurrent protection for these panels. 18. Sheet E12: Loading on motor control center "MCC2" has been reduced by 3 horsepower The 15HP motor that was shown
feeding from this motor control center is now being fed from the existing main service switchboard "MDS." See revisions to sheets El OP and El 1 for details on this change. 19. Sheet
El 2: Total load on existing main switchboard after modification has been added -see sheet Ell. 20. Sheet E12: Breaker size for Panel "PB" has been added to Panel "MB." 21. Sheet E12:
Panel "LB" was deleted from the plans, but the breaker feeding it was not removed from Panel MB. It now now has been removed and made a "space only." Let me know if you have any questions.
