You are listed as the owner of this property. The current condition of the well presents a possible safety hazard as well as a source of contamination for groundwater. The following conditions were observed: Hand dug well 48 inches across no longer in use. Cap has fallen in. To avoid further notification and potential legal action, you must bring the well into compliance by 5/6/2023 by one of the following actions in accordance with North Carolina Well Construction Standards, 15A NCAC 2C .0100: Well must be abandoned for safety reasons. An abandonment permit is required. Please contact our office if you should have any questions or if we may be of assistance in this matter.
