We have addressed each of your concerns or questions and have revised drawings when required to do so. Building Review 1. This is the written response to your comments and clouded drawings are part of the re- submittal. 2. James, this is an interior tenant upfit of a building that has already been submitted and approved by your office. It is an existing site with existing accessibility features. We are providing an entrance to this space right next to an entrance that was approved with the building renovation submittal. I have provided a bulletin drawing BD2 showing where the nearest accessible handicapped spaces and accessible route are. 3. I can provide a complete life safety plan, I assume however you should already have a complete life safety plan from the buildings owner as part of the buildings renovation. This is simply a small upfit of an already established space. See sheet A3 for Life Safety Plan. 4. See revised sheet T1 showing the proper designation for the micro brewery. 5. See revised sheet A2 showing portion of counter to comply with Section 904.3 on ANCI A117.1. 6. The opening we are creating is going into an opening that was previously an opening so no additional support is required. However, if we find it is necessary see sheet A2 showing steel lintel spec for renovation note # 1. j 7. See sheet A2 showing details for the new partition walls shown. ! 8. This wall is existing and the UL #WS6 -2.1 has been sited and detailed on the original building submittal. However, see revised sheet A3 showing the UL # and detail. ! I F f Member of the American Institute of Architects • National Council of Architectural Registration Boards Certified PRE Z OF 9. See revised sheet A2 showing the door assembly changing to a 2 hr. rated door kand frame complying with Table 715.4 NCBC. The existing door in the 2 hr: rated assembly is not part of this project and is existing. The original plans for the building show the 2 -hr wall continuing to the exterior and does not jog as suggested. Our exit plan will show another exit that will fulfill the exiting requirements for this project. That door is the main entrance to the restaurant. 10. The new door assembly has been revised to show no glass. 11. See c hee s fnr ernrinm .nt be'n »r ed. No mechanical hoods are required for this project. 12. See bulletin drawing BD 1 showing location of mechanical unit. There is no other added equipment or appliances on the roof. An outlet complying with the requirements of Article 210.63 of the 2008 NEC will be provided if it is required. 13. See sheet PM & 2 showing DWV and water piping material specs. No wastewater will be discharged into the building drainage system at a temperature higher than 140° degrees Fahrenheit. 14. The sink is only being used for the sanitation of fittings, nozzles, etc. therefore, the sink will tie directly into the plumbing system. 15. See sheet PM1 & 2 showing piping plan including all pipe sizes distances gg pp gp g Pp , material, supply pressure and all connected loads in BTU/ hour. s 16. See sheet PM1 & 2 showing the water supply for the trap primer is provided by the one compartment sink that will be directly tied to the plumbing system at the trench drain. 17. Hickory Utilities review comments and notes have been duly noted. See comments to their comments below. 18. See combustion air data on sheet PM1 & 2. 19. Outdoor ventilation air to comply with Mechanical code is already provided in the existing HVAC system. We are doing nothing to the existing HVAC system. The ductless split unit is for cooling the storage room only. 20. All lighting and power is existing and will come from existing circuits on existing panels. 21. There will be no combustible dust associated with the brewing process on this project. The grain mill is not one that produces a fine powder or dust, rather the grain is simply cracked open just enough to serve its purpose. No Class II locations are being created. Hickory Fire Department Review — Approved with Notes: Kelly, we will address each of your concerns as they apply based on your notes.
