area for required setbacks,and the County recommends this optional service.Structural additions,
swimming pools,decks,and other accessory structures constructed on septic systems or in septic repair
areas,can irreversibly destroy the area and may result in an inability to install a septic repair system. If
the undersigned is an agent for the property owner,the undersigned is responsible for informing the
property owner of this optional service.An Environmental Health inspection and permit are required if
building a new house or adding a bedroom to an existing house.

We do not have service with the city. We have a Tap but haven't decided yet. We do have a well and arc still
using it.

Megen,
Thank you for contacting me about this storage building/shed for our lawn mower and other yard equipment. I
do know where our septic tank is and it will be far away from the storage building/shed. I have filled out the
waiver and have attached it to this email. I hope I filled it out correctly. Let me know if you need anything else.

I received your plans for the new storage building. Environmental Health regulates septic systems and wells.
Because your property has a septic system and a well, we must ensure that the proposed new building meets
Environmental Health setbacks. Those setbacks are as follows: 25ft minimum from well to building, 5ft
minimum from all septic components to building; no cutting, grading, filling, or driving over septic system.
You have 2 options in order to gain Environmental Health approval. You can have our department make a site
visit to locate the septic system and well to ensure setbacks are met; the fee for that is $80. If you know where
your septic and well are located, you can sign a waiver in which you confirm you are meeting necessary
setbacks.
I have attached the EH waiver and the original septic permit.
Let me know how you want to proceed or if you have any questions.
