All construction and system component installation shall be in strict accordance with all applicable regulations set forth in 15A NCAC 18A .1900 (North Carolina Laws and Rules for Sewage
Treatment and Disposal Systems) and the pre-approved revised plans and system specifications prepared by Shabaldeen Engineering, received October 12, 2010.
The septic system contractor shall be required to meet with a representative of Catawba County Environmental Health, and the certifying engineer on site for a pre-construction conference
prior to initiating construction of the system. The contractor shall lay out the entire system, and show the locations of all system components prior to the scheduled meeting. All property
lines shall be surveyed and field located prior to beginning installation of the system.
The dosing tank shall be leak-tested in place by approved methods and approved by Catawba County Environmental Health prior to covering any part of the tank top or sidewalls.
The system is permitted as an equalized flow system as per engineered plans and shall be adequately demonstrated to perform according to required dosing calculations, etc. All components
of the system shall be inspected by Catawba County Environmental Health, and demonstrated as properly functioning prior to approval.
The design engineer shall be present at construction as sufficient to verify that the installation has been completed in accordance with all plans and design specifications.
A complete set of “as built” diagrams, certified by the design engineer, shall be submitted to Catawba County Environmental Health upon completion of installation and prior to final
approvals.
A contract with a certified subsurface system operator, signed by all required parties and a complete operation and maintenance plan shall be submitted to Catawba County Environmental
Health upon completion of installation and prior to final approvals.
Final landscaping of the nitrification fields shall be performed by placement of approved soil cover over the entire field, slightly mounded in the center, and gently sloped to the sides
to shed surface water from the field. Seed and straw shall be applied to the finished surface and appropriately maintained.
Pressure head shall be maintained at two feet.
