Re: 4000 Seaver Ct, Hickory, NC
To Whom It May Concern:
Reference is made to your letter dated June 4,2021, received by Catawba County Public Health, regarding
the property located at 4000 Seaver Ct, Hickory, NC (the "Property"). The reported concern over "septic
tank odors" from the Property was referred to our Environmental Health Department for investigation.
On June 17, 2021 Environmental Health staff made a site visit to the Property and found no evidence of a
current or previous septic malfunction. The septic system area was dry and had adequate ground cover.
There is currently no septic violation at the Property.
In addition to septic systems, Environmental Health also regulates private drinking water wells including
any well known to be a channel for contamination. Following an inspection by Environmental Health staff,
no wells were found on the Property or surrounding properties.
The reports related to solid waste and junk vehicles has been referred to Catawba County Code
Enforcement for investigation and will be addressed under separate cover. Catawba County
Environmental Health does not have regulatory authority over other ground water or soil contamination
or pollution. Any further concerns related to such contamination or pollution may be directed the North
Carolina Department of Environmental Quality.
This concludes our investigation. Please direct any questions related to the Environmental Health
investigation to Megen McBride, Environmental Health Program Manager II at (828)465-8268.
Sincerely,
Jennifer McCracken MPA, BSN, RN
