Sheet ALL, Appendix B: The floor area per occupant for mercantile, grade level i is 30 square feet gross per Table 1004.1 of the 2009 NC Building Code. Response: We have changed our figure of 60gsf/person to 30 and have added a line for the back of house occupancy based on the most restrictive figure of 100gsf /person. The occupancy has increased. Please note we had intended to provide 2 exits due to the path of travel distance, but had not identified the rear door as an exit. 2. Sheet ALL and ELP1.1: Two exits are required per Section 1019.2 of the 2009 s NC Building code. The appendix, exit requirements show two exits. However, only one exit is designated with exit lights /signs. 3 2 8 E a s t Market Street Response: Our reflected ceiling plan and electrical drawings now show the S u i t e z 0 0 required exit signs directing the occupants to 2 separate exits. Sheet ALL, detail 3: Provide vertical grab bars at the water closets complying 2 7 4 0 1 with Section 604.5.1 of ICC /ANSI A117.1 -2003 Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities. P 336.373.9800 C Response: This required vertical grab bar has been added to the drawings. F 336.373.0077 4. Sheet P1.1: The break room sink is required to be accessible per Section 1109.3 of the 2009 NC Building Code and shall comply with Section 606 of ICC /ANSI Al 17.1 -2003 Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities. Response: We have added a note to the architectural drawings requiring a clear floor space under the break room sink which complies with www.mmpa.com code. Sheet P1.1: The minimum diameter for waste piping underground is 2 inches per footnote F tQ 1 Table 710.1(2) of the 2009 NC Building Code. The waste piping form the lavatories to the building drain is shown to be 1-1/2 inches. Response: 1 -'/z" diameter waste piping underground is now changed to 2" waste underground on sheet P1.1. 6. Sheet P1.1: The dry vent upstream of the two water closets does not comply with Section 905.4 i of the 2009 NC Building Code. Response: Detail 5/P1.1 has been added to show a 4" combination Y & eighth bend with a horizontal to vertical rise of 90 degrees reducing to a 2" vent vertically to comply with Section 905.4 of the 2009 Code.
