HomeMy WebLinkAboutWELL-06-2019-117409.tif #AIN NOW catawba county public health Memorandum August 17, 2022 To: Justin Bell From: Robert Phelps, Environmental Health Supervisor Re: Well Samples Required: WELL-06-2019-117409,Site Address: 3286 Joe Johnson Road Since July 15t, 2008, a program mandated by the State of North Carolina to regulate private drinking water wells required all county well programs to sample new wells constructed after that date. According to Rules .3801, .3802, and .3803 of the North Carolina Administrative Code (15A NCAC 18A) all wells must be sampled for bacteria, nitrate, nitrite, pH, and a number of naturally occurring inorganic minerals. Our records indicate that we have not been notified that your well has power and is ready for sampling. Despite this, our office has made several attempts to check the status of the well and potentially collect the samples but have been unable to do so, due to a property gate with large dogs or other property inaccessibility. Please contact our office so that we can schedule a time,at your convenience, to meet at the property and collect the required samples. The fees normally charged for these samples were included in the cost of your well permit, so there is no additional charge for this service. The samples will be taken from an outside source. The sample test results will be sent to you when they are received by our office. Typical process time is 6-8 weeks. Please contact our office if we can answer any questions or provide additional assistance. You may reach our office at (828)465-8270, or by e-mail at: EHAdministrativeAssistantsPcatawbacountvnc.gov. catawbacountync.gov Environmental Health Ccicwhc County Government Center 25 Government Drive I PO Box 389 Newton NC 28658 1828.465.8270 MAKING.
