May 27, 2010 Mr. James Lamb Catawba County Plan Review 76 North Center Street Hickory, NC 28601 828 -466 -5130 Mr. Lamb: Below are responses to plan review dated 5/24/10 for Hickory Manor (Reference # BLDC -5 10 -7202) located at 2530 16` Street NE, Hickory, NC 28601. 1. Provide a UL design for maintaining a one -hour fire resistance rating for the roof construction building elements as required oer Table 601 of the 2009 NC Building Code. Please see attached PDF of original building drawing `A -4 This drawing was signed and sealed by the original architect, D.R. Beeson, Jr. (license # 717, dated 8/27/1998). 2. Provide mounting details for the new light fixtures to verify compliance with the one hour fire resistance rating for the roof construction building elements as required per Table 601 of the 2009 NCBC. Please see attached cut sheet information provided by the contractor, Trent Haston of Andrew Roby, Inc. 3. Verify compliance with Section 3409.7 of the 2009 NCBC. There is a flush curb at the drive at the main entrance of the building. The main entrance doors, doors to common toilet rooms and the room including the ISC upfit project are 3' -0" in width. In view of this, the route from the parking lot into the main entrance of the building is handicap accessible.
