Dear Jim:
This letter is in response to the Catawba County Building Plan Review Comments concerning
Item #7 regarding the adequacy of the existing roof structure to support the weight of the new
roof top units.

According to the mechanical drawings there are (2) roof top units, HP-1 and 1HP-2, that weigh
300 pounds each. The units are located on a section of the existing roof structure that is
supported by steel bar joists and metal decking. The units are also located near the ends of the
joists.
Based on our review, the existing joists are adequate to support the weight of these roof top units.
