REF - determine bearing wall per site visit for newly created cased opening
-per building inspections and fire inspections request
-per space belonging to Dean Powell at highland park
Brandon Lewis,
I made a site visit t look at conditions around the newly created opening.
There is a steel roof beam (W shape or "I" beam)that caries steel bar joist loads and
transfers that load to steel columns and to footings. This load path from roof down does not
transfer any loads to interior walls so the wall is non-load bearing.
F
The wall is a light gage metal stud wall with studs at approx. 24" on center with 5/8" gyp
board each side.
