Dear Joel,
I am submitting this letter as a way of describing the accessory structure at the above
address. A zoning permit Wit be obtained as you requested. For informational purposes, the
structure is 15+ feet from both the side and rear yards as per the covenants and restrictions of
the neighborhood and as per the zoning ordinance governing this property. I have visited the
property and have inspected the structure. It is a well-built structure and it wib be evident from
my description. The structure was built for palm tree seedlings.
The unit is approximately 19'-6" x 19'-6" at its base. The pitch of the roof is 15 degrees.
The walls arc approx 5' tall. They are constructed with 2"xl/16" square metal tubing, bolted to
8" x 8" treated lumber with 3/8" x 7" lag bolts with 2x85 sandwiched between them. 2x4 end
walls. 1x4 brace board, double layer (2" air space created by one layer to the inside of the
structure and one to the outside) of Emil polycarb. film secured with both 1x4 and I/2*xl' tack
board. The structure is held together with self-driling/tapping 2-3/4" screws and 2" wood
screws. The greenhouse is bermed 8" deep on (3) sides-. east, west 6 north. The 8x8's are
secured/ trapped by ten (10) 12" x 24 rebar spikes.
To Mr. Knapp's credit, it is a very well engineered and weA-built structure.
Thank you for your consideration and time in reviewing this project. Please call it you have any
further questions or concerns.
fincerely.

Subject: Re: Greenhouse
Mr. Cash,
Thank you for the timely response to this issue. It is unfortunate that 100% of our back yard is dedicated
to ether drain field or repair area's, this is my first home purchase in NC after being transferred here a
little over a year ago. Had I known/understood the limitation of my property at the Ume of purchase I
would have made other decisions. My family and I appreciate everything you and your staff are trying to do
to allow us to utilize this space for these temporary structures. I am unable to open the letter you've
attached I am limited to Microsoft format files. I will be leaving around noon today for a weeks vacation so
please allow me to respond now as Mr Wallner has given me an overview in advance of how we intend on
resolving our issues through my response.
As agreed my response is:
I will be responsible and willing to move both the permitted 12'x 20' storage building and 19' x 19'
Greenhouse that are currently located in the Southern most Pump Repair Area of our property in the event
repairs or extension of my current drain field are needed in the future. To further reduce the possible of
such repairs being necessary in the near future I am extending my responsibility to include an agreement
reach today with Robert's Septic Service in Maiden pump the system by the end of Uiis month, 1 will
provide a copy of the receipt for this task when it becomes available. I will also maintain a schedule to
have it pumped again as recommended. I feel confident that with regularly scheduled maintenance, a
clear understand of what materials are acceptable to be introduced to our septic systern and restricting the
planting of tree's in this area we can greatly reduce the possibility of a total system failure that would force
us to use these repair areas.
Again. thank you for all your help in resolving this issue.
Sincerely,
Philip Knapp/7

Mr. Knapp and others:
The letter concerning the greenhouse location with relation to the septic system repair area, as discussed
with Armin Wallner in Building Services, is attached. I have also mailed a signed copy to your residence.
Please be aware that issuance of a building permit for the greenhouse structure in its current location may
result in a compromise to the existing system and/or repair area as explained in the letter.
Please let me know if I can answer any questions or offer any additional assistance.
