Made visit to property and spoke with Tom Ford and his architect. Not really sure at this time if this building will be used as a daycare. This could possibly be used if project is completed in phases. Right now it would be disapproved plan for EH. Issued notes in the field when talking to these gentlemen. So at this point will treat as a EH review and disapprove. According to notes I have from the field meeting, we discussed specifying a commercial grade high heat dishwasher,adding a hand wash sink,and adding a can wash. See revised clarification and added information to revised Sheet A1.0. Building Review: Requires Re-Submit 1. A written response to the comments in the order they appear in this correspondence as well as appropriate clouded revisions to the plans shall be provided. Plans resubmitted without required response letter and clouded revisions will not be accepted. Will comply. 2. If this is a licensed day care this must go through the State licensing agency,and Ietter provided to this department with plans. Will comply.Licensing for the facility is in progress. We will furnish state agency approval and letter as requested. Any design changes required by licensing approval review will be submitted as field changes prior to final inspection/occupancy permits. Any changes will be subject to review by applicable review bodies/agencies as required. 3. Plan review can't be completed until an appropriate Code has been chosen along with the compliance pathway. Will comply. My understanding of the intent of this section is the requirement of vapor retarding barrier to new slabs. The slab for the carport area is existing and is elevated several feet on two sides with finished/conditioned space on a third side. Any migrating moisture should me at a minimal level that can he adequately controlled by the conditioned space. We would propose to furnish a concrete sealer coating prior to applying new floor finishes. See finish schedule on revised Sheet A1.1. 40. Will comply. 3. Occupancy load calculations for the 3 classrooms indicate an occupant load of more than 10 in each room. Per Chapter 10 of the 2012 NC Fire Code, an occupancy load of more than 10 requires 2 direct exits from each room that are remote. Please resubmit a life safety plan that is larger and scalable indicating 2 remote exits from each classroom. Will comply. 4. Verify ages of children to occupy each classroom area. Will comply. 5.
